Tomorrow is the big candy hunt followed by the trek to the airport. I'm sure letting your child eat copious amounts of candy before an international journey is a great idea!
You get what you get and missing out on trick-or-treating isn't practical when you have a 10-yr-old, you're only a kid once (drats). I'd better get a few chocolates in the deal.
Cliff wasn't able to get on the same flights as Alexa & myself so we'll meet him in Lisbon the following day. Cliff gets to hang out in Portland for an extra 8 hours and we'll wait in Lisbon for 3. Piece of cake...oh no, more sweets!?
The house project will be there waiting for us when we get back. All the new windows are in (looks great) and most of the roof (rain?!?).
See you all in Portugal!
We leave in 4 weeks! How did this happen so fast? Planning for over a year, tickets purchased in February (you betcha as Palin would say...but don't get me going) and now just 4 short weeks until we fly from Oregon to Europe. I think I'm the only one in the family with this realization. Cliff is focused on making the new addition weather-proof (first rain/wind storm arriving today, so it's a good thing) and Alexa is worrying about various Halloween costumes. Will the hotel/car/apartment rental really be as advertised? Should we have just winged it? (I think not with a 10-yr-old). Will the 10-yr-old eat anything but bread on the trip? Can I figure out how to speak enough Portuguese & French? How will the weather really be? What other preparations should I have done?I know it will all work out (roof, costumes, trip) and this is going to be a great adventure.Zoom-zoom.
